Martinsville Speedway is a stock car racing short track in Ridgeway, Virginia, just south of Martinsville. The track was also one of the first paved oval tracks in stock car racing, being built in 1947 by partners H. Clay Earles, Henry Lawrence, and Sam Rice, nearly a year before NASCAR was officially formed. It is also the only race track that has been on the NASCAR circuit from its beginning in 1948. Along with this, Martinsville is the only oval track on the NASCAR circuit to have asphalt surfaces on the straightaways and concrete to cover the turns. At 0.526 miles (847 m) in length, it is the shortest track in the NASCAR Cup Series. It is owned by NASCAR.

Spencer is an unincorporated community in Henry County, Virginia, United States. It takes its name from its earliest settler, James Spencer Sr., who moved from Loudoun County to Henry County with his sons in the eighteenth century. Spencer's son ensign James Spencer, Jr. died of wounds suffered during the Revolutionary War. (On his death, his widow remarried Nathaniel Bassett.)

Named for the Magna Vista plantation which occupied the land where it sits, it is approximately three miles west of the town of Ridgeway, Virginia and ten miles (16 km) south of the city of Martinsville, Virginia. Magna Vista currently enrolls approximately 1000 students in grades 9-12. It is one of two comprehensive high schools operated by Henry County Public Schools.

Virginia Home is a historic boarding house located at Fieldale, Henry County, Virginia, United States. It was built in 1920, and is a two-story, seven-bay, frame structure with a hipped roof and a full, two-story porch. Also on the property are a contributing cook's house, a wash house, and a one-story cottage for the staff of the Virginia Home. The Virginia Home was built by Marshall Field and Company as a boarding house for workers at the Fieldcrest Mills.
The Martinsville Dam is a gravity dam on the Smith River in Martinsville, Virginia. The dam was completed in 1924 and houses a 1.3 MW power plant which supplies power to the city of Martinsville. Before the current dam, there was a mill dam in its location. The dam and power plant are operated by the Martinsville Electric Department.
