West Attica (Greek: Δυτική Αττική) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Attica. The regional unit covers the western part of the agglomeration of Athens, and the area to its west.
The Aithra Tunnel (Greek: Σήραγγα Αίθρα) is a tunnel on the Athens-Corinth section of the Olympia Odos motorway. Works began in 1999 as part of the construction of the Kakia Skala pass, one of the most dangerous road parts in Greece, with motorway standards. It was one of the first tunnels of the motorway and it is currently the second longest tunnel of it. It was opened to traffic in July 2004, along with the rest of the motorway segment, in time for the Athens Olympics.

Elefsina (Greek: Ελευσίνα, romanized: Elefsína) or Eleusis ( ih-LEW-siss; Ancient Greek: Ἐλευσίς, romanized: Eleusís) is a suburban city and municipality in Athens metropolitan area. It belongs to West Attica regional unit of Greece. It is located in the Thriasio Plain, at the northernmost end of the Saronic Gulf. North of Elefsina are Mandra and Magoula, while Aspropyrgos is to the northeast.
Fyli (Greek: Φυλή, pronounced [fiˈli]), formerly known as Chasia (Χασιά), is a town and a municipality in the northwestern part of Attica, Greece. It lies in the northeastern corner of the West Attica regional unit, and is a suburb of Athens. The seat of the municipality is the town Ano Liosia. Within bounds of the town is the ancient Athenian fortress of Phyle.

Magoula (Greek: Μαγούλα) is a suburban town of Athens and former community (pop. 4,992 in 2011) of West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Elefsina, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 18.134 km2.
Oinoi (Greek: Οινόη) is a village and a former community in the northern part of West Attica, Greece. The village was named Mazi (Greek: Μάζι) until 1919. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Mandra-Eidyllia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 14.431 km2.
Οι Ελευθερές ήταν αρχαία πόλη στα όρια της Αττικής με τη Βοιωτία. Για την ακριβή τοποθεσία της πόλης υπήρξε διαφωνία μεταξύ ιστορικών. Σύμφωνα με την πιο επικρατούσα άποψη η πόλη βρισκόταν στις ανατολικές πλαγιές του Κιθαιρώνα, κατά μήκος της στενής διάβασης της Κάζας, στη θέση που διασωζονται ερείπια σημαντικού φρουρίου. Η άποψη αυτή ενισχύεται από την περιγραφή του Παυσανία. Ορισμένοι τοποθετούν την πόλη ανατολικότερα στην περιοχή της Μυούπολης (κοντά στη Μονή του Οσίου Μελετίου), θέση στην οποία άλλοι τοποθετούν την αρχαία Οινόη.
Η λίμνη Κουμουνδούρου είναι λίμνη της Αττικής στα όρια των δήμων Χαιδαρίου και Ασπροπύργου. Πρόκειται ουσιαστικά για λιμνοθάλασσα, καθώς βρίσκεται στο επίπεδο της θάλασσας, πολύ κοντά στις BA ακτές του κόλπου της Ελευσίνας. Σήμερα χωρίζεται από αυτές από την εθνική οδό Αθηνών-Κορίνθου. Το νερό της είναι υφάλμυρο καθώς εισχωρεί σε αυτή θαλασσινό νερό.
The Telesterion ("Initiation Hall" from Gr. τελείω, "to complete, to fulfill, to consecrate, to initiate") was a great hall and sanctuary in Eleusis, one of the primary centers of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The hall had a fifty-five yard square roof that could cover three-thousand people, but no one revealed what happened during these events beyond there being "something done, something said, and something shown". This building was built in the 7th century BCE and was an important site until it was destroyed in the 4th century CE. Devoted to Demeter and Persephone, these initiation ceremonies were the most sacred and ancient of all the religious rites celebrated in Greece.
Aspropyrgos (Greek: Ασπρόπυργος) is a western suburb , in the Athens metropolitan area and a municipality in the West Attica regional unit in the Thriasio Plain, Attica, Greece. The municipality had a population of 31,381 at the 2021 census. It has an area of 101.983 km2.
Phyle (Ancient Greek: Φυλή) was a strong fortress and deme of ancient Attica, on a steep rock, commanding the narrow pass across Mount Parnes, through which runs the direct road from Thebes to Attica, past Acharnae. On the northern side of the pass was the territory of Tanagra. Phyle is situated at the distance of more than 120 stadia from Attica, not 100 stadia, as Diodorus states, and was one of the strongest Attican fortresses on the Boeotian frontier. The precipitous rock upon which it stands can only be approached by a ridge on the eastern side. It is memorable in history as the place seized by Thrasybulus and the Athenian exiles in Battle of Phyle in 404 BCE, and from which they commenced their operations against the Thirty Tyrants. The height of Phyle commanded views of the whole Attican plain, of the city itself, of Mount Hymettus, and the Saronic Gulf. In Phyle there was a building called the Daphnephoreion, containing a picture, which represented the Thargelia.
Vilia (Greek: Βίλια; formerly Eidyllia, Ειδυλλία) is a village and a former municipality of West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Mandra-Eidyllia, of which it is a municipal unit. Its population was 2,514 at the 2021 census. It is part of Athens metropolitan area. The inhabitants of Vilia are Arvanites.
Mandra-Eidyllia (Greek: Μάνδρα-Ειδύλλια) is a municipality in the West Attica regional unit, Attica, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Mandra. The municipality has an area of 426.197 km2.
Erythres (Greek: Ερυθρές, formerly known as Kriekouki, Greek: Κριεκούκι) is a village and a former municipality in the northernmost part of West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Mandra-Eidyllia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 61.145 km2. It is part of Athens metropolitan area. Erythres was named after the ancient city of Erythrae, the ruins of which are located 1.5 km east of the present town. The inhabitants of Erythres are Arvanites. The Greek National Road 3 (Elefsina - Thebes - Florina) passes through Erythres. The area south of Erythres is mountainous, with the Kithaironas to the southwest and the Pastra to the southeast. The area north of Erythres is characterised by the wide, flat valley of the Boeotian river Asopos, that flows to the east along the northern border of the municipal unit. This area is dominated by farmlands. Erythres is located 5 km east of Plataies, 6 km north of Vilia, 12 km south of Thebes and 44 km northwest of Athens.
Mandra (Greek: Μάνδρα), is a town and former municipality in West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Mandra-Eidyllia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 205.770 km2. The population of the municipal unit was 12,365 at the 2021 census.
Aigosthena (Ancient Greek: Αἰγόσθενα) was an ancient Greek fortified port city of Megaris, 19 km (12 mi) northwest of the ancient city of Megara to which it belonged. It is also the name of the coastal settlement at the foot of the ancient city walls, also known as Porto Germeno. The ancient citadel which stands at the foot of Mt Cithaeron and extends down to the sea at the inlet of Aigosthena, on the east side of the Gulf of Corinth, is famous for retaining several of the tallest surviving towers of ancient Greece.
The Archeological Museum of Eleusis is a museum in Eleusis, Attica, Greece. The museum is located inside the archaeological site of Eleusis. Built in 1890, by the plans of the German architect Kaverau, to keep the findings of the excavations, and after two years (1892) was extended under the plans of the Greek architect J. Mousis.

Ano Liosia (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Άνω Λιοσίων, romanized: Sidirodromikós Stathmós Áno Liosíon) is a train station in Ano Liosia, a western suburb in the municipality of Fyli, West Attica, Attica, Greece. It is located in the median strip of the Attiki Odos motorway, and has a single island platform. The station is the western terminus of the Athens Suburban Railway to and from Athens Airport. It is also served by trains to and from Piraeus and Kiato. it sits a 700 meaters from Zefyri, or a 2 min train ride.
Aspropyrgos Railway Station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Ασπροπύργου, romanized: Sidirodromikós Stathmós Aspropýrgou) is a train station in the municipality of Aspropyrgos, West Attica, Greece. The station is located north of the residential area, on the Athens Airport–Patras railway. The station is served by the Athens Suburban Railway between Piraeus and Kiato. It is located adjacent to the Thriasian Plain freight yard owned by OSE.
Elefsis Shipyards is a Greek shipbuilding company, also involved in other industrial constructions. Founded in 1968, it has constructed many types of ships, including the largest bulk carriers built in Greece, as well as military ships. The latter include the Jason-class tank landing ships (LST) developed by Elefsis Shipyards (first launched in 1987), a series of Fast Attack Crafts, and the largest ship of the Greek Navy, support ship Promitheus (A-374), on Italian designs.
The MS Mediterranean Sky was a combination-passenger liner built in 1953 for Ellerman Lines' service between London and South Africa. Originally named MS City of York, she was sold in 1971 to Karageorgis Lines, converted to a cruiseferry and renamed.

It should not be confused with the now-closed station on the old Piraeus–Patras railway, which is located within the city itself.

Βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Πάχη, 2 χιλιόμετρα από τα Μέγαρα του νομού Αττικής. Απέχει 43 χιλιόμετρα από το κέντρο της Αθήνας.
Ο Δήμος Μεγαρέων είναι δήμος της περιφέρειας Αττικής που προέκυψε με το Πρόγραμμα Καλλικράτης από την συνένωση των προϋπαρχόντων δήμων Μεγαρέων και Νέας Περάμου. Η έκταση του νέου Δήμου είναι 330,11 τ.χλμ και ο πληθυσμός του 38.033 κάτοικοι σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2021. Έδρα του δήμου θα είναι τα Μέγαρα. Ο δήμος Μεγαρέων βρίσκεται στο δυτικότερο τμήμα της Αττικής και περιλαμβάνει το μεγαλύτερο κομμάτι της επαρχίας Μεγαρίδας. Βρέχεται στα βόρεια από τα νερά του Κορινθιακού κόλπου και στα νότια από τον Σαρωνικό.
The Phyle Cave is a small cave on Mount Parnes near Fyli (Phyle), a suburb of Athens in Attica, Greece. In ancient Greece it was the site of a sanctuary to Pan and the nymphs. It is also known as Lychnospilia (Λυχνοσπηλιά), meaning lamp cave, for the large number of oil lamps found in the cave. It has been identified as the cave which occurs in the Dyskolos of Menander. The cave was excavated in 1901. Three votive reliefs found in the cave are now on display in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.

Ο Δήμος Ελευσίνας είναι δήμος της Περιφέρειας Αττικής που συστάθηκε με το σχέδιο Καλλικράτης. Η έκτασή του δήμου είναι 36,589 τ.χλμ και ο πληθυσμός του 30.140 κάτοικοι σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011. Σήμερα ο δήμος έχει 29.619 κατοίκους. Έδρα του δήμου είναι η Ελευσίνα.
Η Κρήνη του Θεαγένη ήταν υδραγωγείο στα Μέγαρα, που τροφοδοτούσε την πόλη με νερό από τον 5ο αιώνα π.Χ. μέχρι και τον 5ο αιώνα μ.Χ. Ανακαλύφθηκε σε ανασκαφές του Γερμανικού Αρχαιολογικού Ινστιτούτου Αθηνών το 1899.

Megara (; Greek: Μέγαρα, pronounced [ˈmeɣaɾa]) is a historic town and a municipality in West Attica, Greece. It lies in the northern section of the Isthmus of Corinth opposite the island of Salamis, which belonged to Megara in archaic times, before being taken by Athens. Megara was one of the four districts of Attica, embodied in the four mythic sons of King Pandion II, of whom Nisos was the ruler of Megara. Megara was also a trade port, its people using their ships and wealth as a way to gain leverage on armies of neighboring poleis. Megara specialized in the exportation of wool and other animal products including livestock such as horses. It possessed two harbors, Pagae to the west on the Corinthian Gulf, and Nisaea to the east on the Saronic Gulf of the Aegean Sea.

Oenoe or Oinoe (Ancient Greek: Οἰνόη) was a deme of Athens, situated upon the confines of Boeotia and Attica, near Eleutherae, and upon the regular road to Plataea and Thebes. Hysiae and Oenoe are mentioned as the frontier demes of Attica in 507 BC, when they were both taken by the Boeotians. From this time Hysiae continued to be a Boeotian town; but Oenoe was recovered by the Athenians, and was fortified by them before the commencement of the Peloponnesian War. In 411 BC, the Boeotians again obtained possession of Oenoe; but it must have been recovered a second time by the Athenians, as it continues to be mentioned as an Attic demus down to the latest times.
Leipsydrium, or Leipsydrion (Ancient Greek: Λειψύδριον), was a fortress of ancient Attica, in which the Alcmaeonidae fortified themselves after the death of Hipparchus, but was taken by the Peisistratidae after defeating the opposite party. Herodotus describes it as situated above Paeonia, and other authorities place it above Mount Parnes.
