Florina (Greek: Φλώρινα, Flórina; known also by some alternative names) is a town and municipality in the mountainous northwestern Macedonia, Greece. Its motto is, 'Where Greece begins'.
Lake Vegoritida (Greek: Λίμνη Βεγορίτιδα, Limni Vegoritida), also known in the past as Lake Ostrovo (Greek: Λίμνη Οστρόβου, Limni Ostrovou), is a large natural lake in western Macedonia, northern Greece. It is situated 6 km northeast of Amyntaio and 18 km west of Edessa, at 540 m elevation. The Voras Mountains lie to the north. It belongs partly to the Florina regional unit and partly to the Pella regional unit.
Small Prespa Lake (Greek: Λίμνη Μικρή Πρέσπα, Limni Mikri Prespa; Albanian: Prespa e Vogël; Macedonian: Мало Преспанско Езеро, Malo Prespansko Ezero) is a lake shared between Greece (138 km² drainage area; 42.5 km² surface area) and Albania (51 km² drainage area; 4.3 km² surface area). The town is named after the ancient king of Macedon, and father of Philip II and grandfather of Alexander the Great, Amyntas III.

It is the southernmost and highest peak, 2,521 metres (8,271 ft), of a range known in Greek as the Voras Mountains and in Macedonian as Nidže. In terms of prominence, the Kaimaktsalan summit rises 1,758 metres above its surroundings. The frontier between the two countries runs across the summit. It is the third-highest peak in Greece after Mytikas and Smolikas and the fifth-highest in North Macedonia.

Verno (Greek: Βέρνο) or Vitsi (Greek: Βίτσι) is a forested mountain range in the southern part of the Florina and the northeastern part of the Kastoria regional units in Western Macedonia, northern Greece. The elevation of its highest peak, Verno, is 2,128 m (6,982 ft). It stretches from the village Trivouno in the northwest to Kleisoura in the southeast, over a length of about 30 km (19 mi). The nearest mountains are the Askio to the southeast, the Baba to the north and the northern Pindus to the southwest. It is drained towards the river Sakoulevas (a tributary of the Crna) to the northeast, and towards the Aliakmonas and Lake Kastoria to the southwest.
Η βασιλική του Αγίου Αχιλλείου είναι ερειπωμένος χριστιανικός ναός του 10ου-11ου αιώνα αιώνα, ο οποίος βρίσκεται στο νησί του Αγίου Αχιλλείου, στη λίμνη Μικρή Πρέσπα. Οικοδομήθηκε στο σημείο όπου βρισκόταν μεγαλύτερος παλαιοχριστιανικός ναός του 6ου αιώνα. Ο ναός λεηλατήθηκε και καταστράφηκε από τους Αλαμανούς περίπου το 1045 και τόσο οι πηγές όσο και η αρχαιολογική έρευνα δείχνουν ότι στη συνέχεια ανακαινίσθηκε από τον δραστήριο επίσκοπο Αχριδών Θεόφραστο που διοργάνωνε εκεί Επισκοπικές και Αρχιερατικές Συνόδους.

Ο δήμος Πρεσπών του προγράμματος Καποδίστριας ήταν δήμος που λειτούργησε την περίοδο 1999-2010. Συστάθηκε με το πρόγραμμα Καποδίστριας από τη συνένωση παλαιότερων κοινοτήτων της περιοχής, που αποτέλεσαν στη συνέχεια τα δημοτικά διαμερίσματα του δήμου. Το 2010 καταργήθηκε και εντάχθηκε στον νέο διευρυμένο δήμο Πρεσπών. Βρισκόταν στα βορειοδυτικά του νομού, στα σύνορα με την Αλβανία και την Πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβική Δημοκρατία της Μακεδονίας. Καταλάμβανε ολόκληρο σχεδόν το τμήμα του εθνικού δρυμού Πρεσπών, ο οποίος ανακηρύχθηκε το 1974. Αποτελούταν από 13 δημοτικά διαμερίσματα, καταλάμβανε έκταση 413,5 τ.χλμ. (αποτελούσε τον μεγαλύτερο δήμο σε έκταση στον νομό) και είχε συνολικό πληθυσμό 1.851 κατοίκους (απογραφή 2001). Έδρα του δήμου ήταν ο Λαιμός.
Ο Δήμος Φλώρινας του προγράμματος Καποδίστριας ήταν δήμος που λειτούργησε την περίοδο 1999-2010. Συστάθηκε με το πρόγραμμα Καποδίστριας από τη συνένωση του παλαιότερου δήμου Φλώρινας και των γειτονικών του παλαιότερων κοινοτήτων, που αποτέλεσαν στη συνέχεια τα δημοτικά διαμερίσματα του δήμου. Το 2010 καταργήθηκε και εντάχθηκε στον νέο διευρυμένο δήμο Φλώρινας. Βρισκόταν στο κεντρικό τμήμα του νομού. Αποτελείτο από 8 δημοτικά διαμερίσματα, καταλάμβανε έκταση 150,6 τ.χλμ. και είχε συνολικό πληθυσμό 16.771 κατοίκους (απογραφή 2001).

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Florina, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 188.564 km2. It is 7 km north of the city of Florina. The population was 2,132 in 2021.

Het Nationaal park Prespa (Εθνικός Δρυμός Πρεσπών; Ethnikós Drymós Prespón) is een nationaal park in het noordwesten van Griekenland. Het is een van de vier nationale parken rond het Prespameer en beslaat het gebied rond het zuidoostelijke, Griekse gedeelte van dit meer, inclusief het Kleine Prespameer. Het maakt sinds 2000 samen met de drie parken in de buurlanden (Nationaal park Prespa in Albanië, Nationaal park Pelister en Nationaal park Galičica in Noord-Macedonië) deel uit van een trilateraal grensoverschrijdend Prespapark.
Η Χειμαδίτιδα είναι λίμνη της Μακεδονίας που βρίσκεται στα νότια της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Φλώρινας κοντά στα σύνορα με την Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Κοζάνης. Nymfaio (Greek: Νυμφαίο, before 1926: Νέβεσκα – Neveska, Aromanian: Nevesca) is a village and a former community in Florina regional unit, Western Macedonia, Greece. After the 2011 local government reform it became a member of the municipality Amyntaio. The municipal unit has an area of 28.209 km2. As of 2021 the village had a population of 63 residents. The village is protected by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture in order to preserve its architectural integrity.
Lechovo (Greek: Λέχοβο), renamed as Iroiko (Greek: Ηρωϊκό) between 1955 and 1956, is a village and a former community in Florina regional unit, Western Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Amyntaio, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 22.844 km2, and a population of 782 (2021 census). The village is set amongst the mountains of Northern Greece and the main road runs through the town's centre. There is a museum, a football pitch and an indoor handball stadium. Lechovo has stone architecture common to many northern villages, and has an old upper square and church bell tower.

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Amyntaio, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 21.877 km2. It is 27 km south-southeast of the city of Florina. The village's primary agricultural products are beans, corn, and wheat. There is an annual bean festival on August 15, coinciding with the Dormition of Virgin.

It is on the ridge of Baba Mountain on the periphery of the Pelagonia plain. Today, Paroreio is inhabited by only a small number of full-time residents. At its peak in the 1930s, the village reached about 600-700 inhabitants, mostly families looking for a piece of fertile land to cultivate and farm in the nearby valley. The residents were employed in agriculture, raising livestock, timber getting and other trades and necessary occupations.

Drosopigi is on Mount Vitsi, 14 kilometres from Florina, Western Macedonia, Greece. In the 1990s members of Drosopigi Cultural Society ‘I Proodos’ started collecting objects from everyday life, some which people still used and some which had fallen into disuse. The folklore collection was created in 1987 and housed in the old community hall of Drosopigi in the centre of the village.

Σήμερα αναφέρεται και ως Νέο χωριό.
