The Nareg Armenian School (Greek: Αρμενικό Σχολείο Ναρέκ; Armenian: Նարեկ հայկական վարժարան), also known as the Larnaca Armenian School, is located in Larnaca. As of 1972, it has been called Nareg, after Saint Krikor Naregatsi. It's located on 21, Armenian church street in central Larnaca, next to the Sourp Stepanos church. The current building was built between 1993-1995 by the Technical Services of the Ministry of Education and was inaugurated on 18 May 1996 by the then-President of Cyprus Glafcos Clerides. Currently, the school has about 25 students. As all other Nareg Schools (Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol), it is under a single principal, as of 2009 Vera Tahmazian, and under the tutelage of the Nareg Armenian Schools Committee.

On 11 July 2011, at Evangelos Florakis Naval Base, situated at Mari, Larnaca in Cyprus, a large amount of ammunition and military explosives self-detonated, killing 13 people, including the Commander of the Cyprus Navy, Andreas Ioannides, the base commander, Lambros Lambrou, and six firefighters. A further 62 people were injured. The explosion was the worst peacetime military accident ever recorded in Cyprus, with a yield of approximately 481 tons TNT equivalent, as determined by the official investigation into the accident. It was the largest artificial non-nuclear explosion of the 21st century until the 2020 Beirut explosions.

Episkopi-Bamboula, vielfach vereinfachend Bamboula genannt, ist eine archäologische Fundstätte auf Zypern, die zuletzt von Gisela Walberg von der University of Cincinnati ausgegraben wurde. Bamboula liegt an der Südküste der Insel zwischen der Mündung des Kouris, der der einzige dauerhaft Wasser führende Fluss in der Bronzezeit war, und dem Dorf Episkopi auf einem etwa 14 m hohen Hügel. Im Umkreis von wenigen Kilometern liegen weitere Fundstätten der Epochen zwischen Chalkolithikum und Zyproarchaischer Zeit. Die jüngsten Grabungen von Walberg brachten Klarheit über die Entwicklungen in der Späten Bronzezeit IA, also der Entstehungszeit der Stadt. Bamboula bestand von etwa 1600/1500 v. Chr. bis zum Ende der Bronzezeit.
