The district is the most visited and toured location in the city. It is in this partly fortified area where the Château Frontenac is found, with its large terrace overlooking the city of Lévis, across the Saint Lawrence River. A large concentration of cafes, tourist shops, restaurants, hotels and inns are situated in the district. In its most recent census count in 2016, Statistics Canada reported that the district had a population of 5,770 residents, whom comprise 1.1% of the city's total population.

Coarchitecture, In Situ, Jacques Plante Architects, OPI, Trizart Alliance, and Tetra Tech were chosen as the project's primary architects and structural designers to meet Quebec City's expanding needs for leisure, entertainment, and urban development. Le Diamant unifies traditional and modern architecture with the use of glass and asymmetrical design. The theater is located at the intersection of Rue des Glacis and Rue Saint-Jean, across from the historic square, Place D'Youville, in Quebec City's Saint-Roch neighborhood. Le Diamant Theatre was built over the course of three years by the Canadian construction company Pomerleau Inc., and it opened its doors in June 2019. Le Diamant Theatre was constructed for a total cost of $54 million, with an additional $10 million from the Quebec government, and the remaining money coming from private funding. New meeting rooms, offices, parking facilities, and a link between the upper and lower towns were all built as part of the project.

Elle sera agrandie entre 1869 à 1872 par l'allongement de l'aile sud. À partir de 1908, l'environnement autour de la prison change considérablement par l'aménagement du parc des Champs-de-Bataille. En 1930, on reconstruit le mur d'enceinte pour faire place au musée de la province, qui deviendra le Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. La prison ferme ses portes en 1970, remplacé par la prison d'Orsainville. Entre 1989 et 1991, l'édifice est reconverti en musée pour l'intégrer au Musée du Québec. Il a été classé comme immeuble patrimonial en 1997 par le ministère de la Culture et des Communications. Le pavillon est temporairement fermé aux visiteurs à compter du 4 avril 2022.

The Battle of the Plains of Abraham, also known as the Battle of Quebec (French: Bataille des Plaines d'Abraham, Première bataille de Québec), was a pivotal battle in the Seven Years' War (referred to as the French and Indian War to describe the North American theatre). The battle, which began on 13 September 1759, was fought on a plateau by the British Army and Royal Navy against the French Army, just outside the walls of Quebec City on land that was originally owned by a farmer named Abraham Martin, hence the name of the battle. The battle involved fewer than 10,000 troops in total, but proved to be a deciding moment in the conflict between France and Britain over the fate of New France, influencing the later creation of Canada.
The Édifice Price (English: Price Building) is an 18-floor (originally 16) skyscraper in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Built in 1928–1930 amid controversy for Price Brothers Limited, it is the tallest building in the Old Quebec historical district, as well as one of the oldest skyscrapers in Canada. The building is the property of Ivanhoé Cambridge, a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. A memorial is attached to the building. In 2001, it became the location of an official residence for the Premier of Quebec, which occupies two of the upper floors.

The Parliament Building of Quebec (French: Hôtel du Parlement du Québec) is an eight-floor structure and is home to the National Assembly of Quebec (French: Assemblée Nationale du Québec), in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Parliament Building was designed by architect Eugène-Étienne Taché in a Second Empire style and built between 1877 and 1886, in the heart of Quebec's Parliament Hill. The National Assembly (or, as it was called until 1968, the Legislative Assembly) first met there on March 27, 1884, even though the building was only fully completed two years later, on April 8, 1886. From the 1910s to the 1930s, the government built several adjacent buildings to expand its office spaces, creating a parliamentary complex, of which the Parliament Building is the main edifice. This structure is a successor of several earlier buildings, the earliest of which was built in 1620 and among which there were two other parliament houses that served as legislatures.

Located at Bois-de-Coulonge Park (upstream of the Plains of Abraham and overlooking Anse-au-Foulon) in Sillery, it was purchased by the Quebec government in 1870, and served as the residence of Quebec lieutenant governors until 1966, when a major fire destroyed the main residence.

The Plains of Abraham (French: Plaines d'Abraham) is a historic area within the Battlefields Park in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It was established on 17 March 1908. The land is the site of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which took place on 13 September 1759, but hundreds of acres of the fields became used for grazing, housing, and minor industrial structures. Only in 1908 was the land ceded to Quebec City, though administered by the specifically created and federally-run National Battlefields Commission. The park is today used by 4 million visitors and tourists annually for sports, relaxation, outdoor concerts, and festivals.

Orsainville était un comté de Nouvelle-France. Fief concédé à Louis Hébert le par Henri de Lévis, il fait l'objet d'un difficile héritage à son décès en 1627. En 1665, Jean Talon commence à racheter différentes parcelles du découpage territoriale qui découle de cet héritage. Le territoire est appelé seigneurie d'Orsainville puis baronnie des Islets en 1671, puis comté d'Orsainville en 1675. Le fief attaché à ce titre consistait en quelques terres acquises par Talon et situées au nord de la rivière Saint-Charles près de Québec, à proximité du Palais de l'intendant. Après la mort de Talon en 1694, il passa finalement à L'Hôpital général de Québec en 1698 et fut intégré aux terres de l'hôpital.
